Nice Guys – (09-12-09)
Nice guys finish last.
This concept we have grasped.
While it isn’t really true,
It seems so to me and you.
The race that we run,
Is really not that fun.
They hold the lead so long,
And it feels so horribly wrong.
When do we get the chance,
To make them second glance?
How long must we wait,
To receive something great?
When we lead the final lap,
What prize will we unwrap?
Will it make the poor race fair,
And comp what wasn’t there?
I’ll tell you when I find it,
When out of this rut I finally get.
I’ll tell you when I go fast,
And this nice guy’s no longer last.
