The Hopeless Romantic – (08-05-08)
The “Hopeless Romantic” goes through life,
Enduring all sorts of pain and strife.
Guaranteed that more will come,
Unknowing of the end sum.
On he goes like nothing passed,
Even after his heart was bashed.
On the way will he love again,
Only to walk the path that he’s been?
Could his heart then be shattered,
When it is so worn and tattered?
Is the love then worth the price,
The price incurred by being nice?
The answer lies with others hidden,
In the mind of he who was ridden.
Oh how long will he stay,
Living out his life this way?
What out there can be of aide,
Is it something not man-made?
Perhaps a girl who will stay true,
To her man through and through.
Whatever answer it may be,
He needs to find it and be free.
While he remains as he is,
No good will come I know of this.
If he could break this dreadful curse,
There would be call for a brighter verse.
But until he sees that day,
The “Hopeless Romantic” ventures away.
